Don't go here, you're getting scammed. Knotty alder goes for around $2bd/ft and red oak is usually $3bd/ft. Go literally anywhere else, these prices are purely an attempt to take advantage of people who don't know better. My kids were in heaven here. The 11 year old wanted every piece of wood and wanted to grow every tree imaginable. We purchased wood for my eldest kid's 4H project and got to select our piece for less than it would have been at Lowe's even. My kid is so excited to add this special piece to her project. We will be back for future projects no doubt!
Alamo Hardwoods always have the best selection of hardwoods, although they are a bit higher on their prices. The quality is well worth the price and the service of their staff is an 11 out of 10. I tried a couple of other stores in town, but they didn’t have the material I needed for my project or not enough of it. I have the honor of building the memorial flag display case for my brother-in-law Dave Sletten who retired as a Master Sergeant from the Air Force who we just loss to cancer.
