This is an exceptional organization which provides countless fun, educational activities for our local youth.
Come out and support the Don Grant Alameda youth track club, we will be having track club sign ups on January 7th 6:00pm at Mountain Mikes pizza 714 Central Ave, Olympic Gold medalists Eddie Hart and Jim Hines will be present, Eddie Hart wil have his Olympic Gold medal for the youth to take photos with boys and girls ages 4-14
A well trained staff and large facility with many organized activities for kids makes this Alameda Club an excellent place for young people to grow, to be challenged and just to hang out with friends!
The first time that I ever visited the club, I remarked: "How old can you be and still come here?" I wanted to pass myself off as a 55-year-old child. But seriously, it is a fantastic place for Alameda's underserved youth.
Life changing organization. I was a member in the early 1950's and the structure and the mentoring I received is still with me. Our trips to Yosemite, our swim trips to Alum Rock Park I can remember like yesterday. The game room, the crafts area and the gymnasium taught me fair play and how to accomplish through using your mind to create. Herbert Hoover visited the club one year and I saw him in person!
