I was not familiar with Halal meat but I discovered it is of high quality! I love to cook and enjoy trying ingredients from other cultures. (I am a Long Island born, European decent, white-bread American. :) At Akal I found more types of Basmati rice than I ever knew existed, and now have a new favorite brand.
