The bottom line is, regular cleaning and servicing of your commercial cooling system makes good financial sense. Not only will it deliver significant savings on energy costs, but it will also help prevent costly future breakdowns.

There are several different cooling technologies that are used for commercial buildings. These systems include absorption cooling systems, high-efficiency gas-fired rooftop units, chillers, dessicant dehumidification, and evaporative cooling systems.

Did you know that commercial absorption chillers for cooling can be either single- or double-effect? Double-effect absorption cycles are able to capture some internal heat to provide part of the energy required by the generator, and create the high-pressure refrigerant vapor.

The first air conditioners created used toxic or flammable gases, such as ammonia, methyl chloride, or propane, all or which were very dangerous if leaked. Fortunately, in 1928, Thomas Midgley Jr. created the first non-flammable, non-toxic chlorofluorocarbon gas, known as "Freon."

Are you concerned that your office building’s cooling system has turned into more of a money pit than a convenience? Rest assured that our technicians will always let you know when equipment replacement is less expensive than continued repairs.

Did you know that absorption cooling systems are most frequently used to air condition large commercial buildings? They make sense when electricity use rates and demand charges are high and when summertime natural gas prices are favorable.

Did you know that the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) has established standards for indoor comfort conditions? For cooling systems, these are between 73 and 79 degrees Fahrenheit with approximately 50 percent relative humidity and the air moving at a velocity of 30 feet per minute or slower.
