Suprisingly nice new museum This new museum is located in downtown Fayetteville. This is the place to learn about the history of the 82nd Airborne. By the time you go through the main exhibits, you get 65 years of history. There is a great special exhibit called "Soldiers: The Global War on Terrorism." This simulator is also very neat but not recommended if you have a weak stomach or get motion sickness.

good learning place I really enjoyed coming here and learning about the history of the airborne and special operations in they army. I really learned a lot from this museum and I really enjoyed looking through it. It is child friendly for the most part and is free and welcomes donations.

free history lesson The Airborne Museum is awesome. There is no charge to get in but donations are accepted. It is clean and air conditioned. There are usually retired military personnel waiting to give you a tour. There is a gift shop and there are simulators you can go into for a fee.

Nice exhibits The Airborne & Special Operations Museum is located in downtown Fayetteville. It is a fabulous way to spend an afternoon learning about our military neighbors. The museum explores the 60 year history of airborne and special operations units through various life-size exhibits and interactive displays. They also have a gift shop located in the museum as well. If you live in our community it is a must see.

Portal Through Time The Airborne & Special Operations Museum should be on the top of the To See List for anyone either living here or just passing through the area. You will see displays there that share the history of the units located at Ft. Bragg, NC as well as other Airborne units around the world. If you have any questions about what you are looking at, the staff is both very knowledgeable and helpful. Before you leave the museum, the gift shop is worth the time to stop in as well.
