Extraordinary Experience! Pure blind dumb luck led us to Air Nootka on the site of the Aerodrome, just south of Gold River. The "Historic Mail Flight" ad caught my attention and I ventured into the office. Amiable Angela was a wealth of information on the different tours offered. Great service, efficient, and very helpful getting our crew to and from Nootka Island. Happy to recommend Air Nootka to anyone looking for seaplane charters.
Not sure why when I requested a flight with other passengers to save cost they made me pay full price for a private charter when a not full plane left an hour after ours. I wasn’t impressed. Also was told our charter was for 30 minutes and it cost $1000 for 2 people when in reality it lasted only 16 minutes and contained little to no information about the area except that it was used for logging and fishing. I’m not at all satisfied with the quality of service from this company.
We used Air Nootka to reach the Tatchu Trail. They are extremely professional with a tremendous focus on safety. Their pilots are very experienced And very confident in flying in all of the different conditions that the West Coast presents. We had a fantastic week on the Tatchu Trail. And our pick up and drop off experience with Air Nootka made the trip even that more special. Thank you to Scott and his team!
I’m giving this review 2 stars- one for the communication with the booking person who was great and one for the fact we survived. Pilot Scott was incredibly rude to us, clearly stressed by his timeline and having to deal with customers and more importantly seemed stressed and rattled by the flying conditions. Regardless of weather conditions it is not ideal when your pilot is swearing like he’s stressed the plane is going to go down! If the weather is that bad maybe don’t go out in it!
