I've had acupuncture needles stuck in me since I was 1-2 years ago and have had a couple of acupuncturist in my own family. I have also lived in China for a couple years with the intent to attend the Beijing Acupuncture University back in the 80's. This is my senior dad's first visit ever, and first of the 12 sessions that the VA provides. Both the doctor and his receptionist were warm, gentle, and the clinic was clean. My dad cringes at the thought of needles, I am not exaggerating when I say he does not allow just anyone to stick needles on him -- not just any nurse, not just any doctor. I have gone to 5 acupuncture sessions in my life, 2 of those 5 at linden and grand Ave ( South SF) not a good place:/. The last 2 were because of a major back pain back in June and again this week. Couldn't wake up, couldn't walk straight, couldn't last too long in the bathroom.. It was that bad !!. A husband/wife owned acupuncture spot. It was my first time ever at an acupuncture office. I was not impressed by the treatment, which involves sticking thin needles into the skin and laying there for 30+ minutes.
