Horrible experience. No communication. Slow turntimes. And NO accountability.
Worst company ever wasted my time closing date change 4 time and the seller cancelled the deal and staff don’t know the rules last minute saying they don’t receive gift money and they do my broker had to speak to management which took another few weeks for response
My brother and his wife are going through an ordeal with this company now. After delaying the closing (due to needing more conditions met, after being cleared) 7 times, the prices of material went up. The builder backed out of the contract and they had to find another builder. By the time they found another builder , AFR expired their loan. The Kicker is they never took a draw and AFR is saying that they owe for the entire loan. If I could give 0 stars I would. Currently going through the process of a VA One-Time-Close Construction Loan and it was the worst mistake ever. This place has been a joke. Everything gets cleared, and then more conditions magically appear. I would not recommend to ANYONE. We started this process back at the beginning of June and STILL HAVE NOT CLOSED. Do NOT use AFR. They are terrible.
BUYER BEWARE! Do not use this company, if you can avoid it. We had a Construction Loan - One-time close. They asked for information little by little. I submitted requested information as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours, and they often LOST the paperwork, asking me to resubmit. The closing date was set by the bank, however, when my lawyer asked for paperwork requested for closing, the bank could not provide it and had to close weeks later, causing a delay in starting construction.
