Before I start with this review I want it to be known that I wait about year to actually write a review about my time with this vet. I’m not completely sure about the dates but I noticed that I dog was acting strange and continually vomiting so I looked up a local “affordable” vet. I took my dog here and they ran a couple of test said they didn’t know what was wrong but to give him some medication that they sold to us. That seemed to work for about a day in a half then the vomiting continued so back to the vet we went. This time they want to draw blood do X-rays and every other test they could charge me for so after about a hour of expensive test and me having to pick my dog up and lay him on the X-ray table because none of their staff was strong enough to pick him up they found a mass in his intestines. At this point its about midway through the day and DR. miller suggest that we do surgery on my dog to remove the foriegn object. The vet tech comes in and Shows me a list of everything that they are gonna charge me for such as glove and glue and oxygen. The total of surgery came out to me about $2500 not so affordable but my wife and I have had our dog for eight years now and I wasn’t just gonna let him suffer. So I without hesitation or even questions about the long list of item I agreed to get the surgery done I had to go and get my wife to see him before the surgery. I was told they would call me when the surgery was complete around 4 and told me that I could come and pick my dog around 5. We arrived a about 5 minutes till 5 o clock to be told that he wasn’t completly awake for the anesthesia so they told us to wait. At this point we were under he impression that he was going home with us and was to be closely monitored throughout the night so my wife ask could we run to Walmart to buy him a new kennel to sleep in for the night they said yeah but don’t be back any later then 5:45 which tell me that they want to hurry and close at the end of the day. My wife and I returned in time to get our dog and to our suprise he still hadn’t fully awakened from anesthesia. One of the vet tech got on the phone to call Dr.Miller who had already left for the day even though my dog that he just did surgery on hadn’t fully awakened yet very unprofessional in my opinion and also that of other vet I talked to about this situation. Now he’s saying he need to go somewhere to be monitored overnight because according to Dr.miller some dogs are lazy and like the anesthesia and don’t want to come out from it. This is where this story goes from bad to worst they tell me that I have to drive my unconscious unalert dog 10 Miles away to a overnight vet in rush hour traffic. I walked into the back of the clinic to see that my dog is laying on the floor wrapped in a blanket and of course I had to carry him to my truck because like I said earlier no one their staff was capable. As I’m loading him into my truck I can feel that he is ice cold to the touch and I asked if thats ok which they told me that it was. while driving through this rush hour traffic as quickly and safely as I possible my dog goes into cardiac arrest and stops breathing I pull into the next vet and they rushed him into the back and perform cpr on him as we sit in a waiting room in the minutes that seem like hours a vet come in to inform us that they got him breathing again but it was only a 6% chance that he be able to breath on his own and be normally functioning we were left with the choice of do we let our dog suffer for our own selfish needs or have him put down. And we choose to have him put to sleep Thanks Dr.Miller and Affordable pet hospital I paid $2500 just to have to put my dog to sleep at the end of the night because of your unprofessional choices. Not to mention the other bill I received from the second vet that put him down.
