I had an overall positive experience with this acupuncture provider. Jonathan was thorough, took the time to explain everything in detail, and provided helpful recommendations for follow-up care. The treatment itself was great. However, the billing process was very confusing. Despite receiving an Explanation of Benefits from my insurance stating I owed nothing, I was later billed an out-of-pocket amount due to differences between what the provider charged and what insurance covered. I have chronic long-standing shoulder pain and any treatment has been not able to easily improve this symptom. When I first visited Althea Oriental Medicine Clinic, I was doubtful as to whether this symptom could be improved but I was satisfied because I was able to hear a detailed explanation of the problems in my lifestyle, I had been aware of these issues for a long time and I was able to hear about reasonable treatments on how to change them.
