Very disappointing experience with Ace Rental Cars Perth Airport. I had already paid online for an additional driver, yet I was told at the counter that I had to pay an additional charge for it again when I picked up the car. This was frustrating and felt like I was being charged for something I had already paid for. Very disappointing customer service from Ace Rental Cars Perth. I made a booking through Booking.com for an upcoming trip from Melbourne to Perth in October. As Booking.com did not provide the option to add a forward-facing toddler seat, I contacted Ace directly to arrange one. What should have been a simple request became a complete waste of time. Our flight arrived pretty early so we had to wait until the branch opened at 8am. At first we had trouble with the local number provided by the email. The call will just hang up automatically when it was suppose to connect the the branch. Only when I tried calling the 1-800 number did we connect with the branch. Once we got connected, the rental process was pretty smooth. The shuttle arrived promptly to pick us up. Excellent! Rarely do I google review but I always read prior to booking. To be honest, I was skeptical as my booking came through firefly (I booked over the phone) and there didn’t seem to be a direct number for the office. However, Ace Perth was excellent! Yes, they have office hours and yes, they need the car refuelled and “reasonably” clean on return, but so do all car rentals. I wouldn't recommend booking with Ace Rental Cars if you're arriving at Perth Airport. Although they appear cheaper on Booking.com, the small saving isn't worth the inconvenience. What wasn't made clear during the booking process is that Ace doesn't have vehicles at the airport. After landing, you have to wait for a shuttle bus, load all your luggage, and travel around 10 minutes to their off-site depot before you can collect your car.
