Great bank
Every 4th or 5th purchase attempt is declined because their fraud alert system thinks EVERYTHING is suspicious, my daughter ran outta gas and I desperately needed to send her money, but nope, apparently 20 bucks on Venmo, to the same person I routinely send these things to is "suspicious", and their 24-hour a day fraud alert system? WORTHLESS. Does not have the capacity to turn the debit card back on once it's INCORRECTLY flagged as "fraud", you have to wait until business hours and talk to the actual bank, so meanwhile, my ... read more
Not exactly what I hoped for from a credit union, but better than a bank.
1 star is generous. I just got denied a home loan from my bank in Fort Kent, ACADIA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION for a really infuriating reason. I wasn't denied because of my credit, because I've taken very good care of that, but it's because my income is government funded now that I've chosen to be my mother's PAID full time caregiver. They tell me it's their policy that they don't lend to people with that kind of income, because if my mother no longer needs me, I'll lose my income and how will I ever make mortgage payments then? ... read more
I grew up in FK and have that small town feeling deep in my bones. I've spent my adult life in RI and still go to Acadia FCU for mortgages as they treat you like a person and not just a number.
