Me as a parent I suggest to start putting kids in a public school...Never again would i put my child in a Mater school...Its Terrible...horrible...disappointing... The lack of effort.They do not care about children's well being and they do not care about parents concerns...I have emailed board members and still no response...this is the response I received and it was wrong...instead of calling me back after I've called several times...she called the principal...the person I was having issues with and he gave her the wrong in... read more

My opinion of the school is the following. My children have enjoyed attending Somi Academy South Miami. The teachers here are great. Coach Ryan the athletic director has been doing tryouts for the kids sports teams from grade kinder and up. If you dont get enough points you dont make the team. These are 5 and 6 year olds that regardless of ability or size should be allowed to experience the benefits of athletic competition. In my personal opinion not all the academica schools are as great as they seem no matter on how good of a reputation that school might have.Not sure either how they keep certain teachers who shouldn’t even be teaching in general and if they are keeping them just because they are proficient when it comes to all this testing is just sad because in reality the kids aren’t learning but learning to get that perfect score the school wants them to achieve .
