Rosalie, the administrator at Absolut Gasport is one of the kindest, more genuine person I know. She really cares about her residents and employees. It’s worth the 20 min drive from Amherst to be at Gasport, good leadership makes everything else fall into place.
My 82 year old mother is currently in this facility for rehab therapy for a fractured hip and femur. She is very fragile and can't walk on her own. She doesn't get timely responses when she presses the nurse button for assistance and more often than not she soils her bed & sits in it for quite a long time before an aide comes to clean her up & change her bedding. My wife was admitted to Absolut in early February of '25. Her health was deteriorating rapidly due to very late stage ovarian cancer. When I first walked in a was taken back by the appearance. Didn't look like it had an update in 20 years. After a couple days I saw what type of staff worked here. I saw caring, compassionate people who completely surprised me with the attention my wife received. Not as a test but one night I had a friend volunteer to sit with my wife.
