They are given teaching, love and they find a place that offers disabled people how to be independent to incorporate them into social life.
Vero Beach desperately needs an effective ARC which provides real services for individuals with special needs. Unfortunately, this ARC has very little to offer. They have severely limited housing options, endless wait lists for group living, a grim day program, no respite and nothing to support families. A community as wealthy as Vero should have a modern, full service ARC with options to meet the needs of families and anyone caring for their loved ones with disabilities. Shame!

Being a non profit in Florida is not an easy challenge, but The Arc of Vero has survived and that is because they put their clients and residents first. Great organization that does their best to ensure the students and residents thrive. This is a much needed organization that deserves more credit and financial resources than is allotted to them.
