I recently moved out to the suburbs from the city and was desperately missing my independent bookstores. I found Abalabix this winter and absolutely love it. They have the titles I'm looking for and I always end up finding something new that I wasn't expecting. It is also great having George there too!
Great independent book store! Friendly staff, warm, relaxed atmosphere, cute dog; what more could you want? The only drawback was that, as a small independent store, the selection wasn't as broad as a big box store. The solution was that they ordered everything I needed. 4/5 will go back!
I had a great experience here! There was a wide selection of new books of all genres. Their dog, George, is a very friendly greeter!
I wish it had more variety of books. It’s a very cute place and the resident puppy is so cute. I wish the place was a bit bigger with more comfy seating. But the staff is very nice and friendly.
Happy we finally made it to Abalabix Books for the first time this week. We were promptly greeted by staff and "vetted" by George (friendly dog mascot)! This lively hometown, boutique- style bookstore is a fresh face in an Amazon-dominated world. A wide selection of books were neatly presented and grouped by genre. Owner Diane chatted with us as well, sharing her passion for books and her desire to be an integral part of downtown. I'd highly recommend a trip or TWO!
