Best frames in America – This is the greatest optical store I've ever been in. A wonderful selection of frames. I've had seven or eight frames custom made for me by A. R. Trapp since 1996. These fellows are the best in the business as far as I'm concerned and I have been buying eyeglasses for almost fifty years. If you can't make it to Manhattan, they'll work with you over the phone. Trapp is a small "mom and pop" (without a mom) shop that has the finest and best selection of unique, fun, and custom-made eyewear. If you want to look like William Colby.... – A.R. Trapp has the best selection of traditional frames in Manhattan, with an emphasis on plastic. They are a true specialty store. The owner and staff are all veterans of many years in the business and each have very long memories of great frames past that can even be replicated in the present (thru their custom-order service). Gazing into their window frontage, filled with red themed frames, is entertainment in itself.
