I brought in my 17 years old Samsung flat-panel TV mid-afternoon, explained to the gentleman what I observed my TV doing (or rather, not doing). He called me back maybe an hour later, explained what the problem was and gave me an estimate. I gave the go-ahead, he told me it would be ready by the next morning. The next morning, the gentleman left a voice-mail at about 10:30 am,, the TV was ready! He helped me bring the TV into the car, and now it is back in my living room, in perfect working order!
