It was just a simple oil change. Nobody could mess that up, right? I went there (Northshore Location) because of a coupon I received in the mail. It took slightly longer than the drive-through place I usually use. I was there around an hour and a half. I guess the oil smudges and finger prints that covered the driver side door and window should have been a clue. As I returned home, I stopped at a traffic light and noticed smoke bellowing around my car. At first I thought it was an old truck in the lane beside me creating the pollution, not my Cadillac. As the light changed, alarms in my car started clanging. Warning! Warning, Warning! Zero Oil Pressure. Stop Engine Now! I pulled over at once and called their shop. They said they would send a tow truck to get my car. As I waited for the tow, I asked a mechanic from a nearby garage to take a peak and tell me why this happened. He looked at my car and noticed they had left the gasket off the new oil filter that was installed. Oil had spewed all over my engine and the dipstick showed absolutely no oil in the engine. After about two hours, the tow truck finally arrived. I had to call a friend for a ride. When I picked my car up the next day, they handed me my keys without an apology or an offer for a refund or even saying they were sorry it happened. I can only hope no damage was done to the engine. I suppose the moral of the story is beware.
